ExP-DISEP type circuit separator is a device designed for separation between intrinsically safe and non-intrinsically safe circuits.
The non-intrinsically safe circuit contains the ExP-DISEP separator coil, while its changeover contact is connected to an intrinsically safe circuit with a protection level of Ex ia or ib. The circuit separator enables the transfer of information from non-intrinsically safe control circuits to intrinsically safe circuits of automation systems.
ExP-DISEP separator consists of:
• a socket with screw terminals and electronics,
• a miniature electromagnetic relay,
• an insulating spacer.
The separator is designed for installation in control cabinets and electrical equipment boxes designed for operation in difficult environmental conditions. Due to its construction, the device can be used in both the chemical and mining industries. The narrow housing and insulating spacer provide the required distance between two successive intrinsically safe circuits.
The product can be used underground in mines in workings classified as "a", "b" or "c" methane explosion hazard and "A" or "B" coal dust explosion hazard only and exclusively after installation in a flameproof Ex d enclosure.
The product can be used in explosion hazard areas only and exclusively after installation in an enclosure with appropriate explosion protection.
